Aboard is a design research and collaborative learning partnership founded by Fernanda Palmieri & Carsten Jungfer as a vehicle to produce and exchange knowledge and practice critical and collaborative design. We are interested in the interface between people, architecture and the city. We focus on contexts undergoing processes of urban transformation because only through the deep understanding of the complexities and significance of a place, interventions and policies can be designed to produce sensitive and sustainable outcomes.
Our methodology embraces collaborative learning, relational research and the exploration of architectural language as a tool for investigation, knowledge exchange and communication. The projects shared here are diverse in scope, scale and format, defined by the specific needs of each study case and collaboration. In common, they all explore the magic and potential of working collectively and are driven by the will to always keep learning.
Welcome Aboard!
